Description

Cargill Steel Service Centers (CSSC) is one of the leading flat-rolled steel service center businesses in North America. We own and operate seven processing facilities, focused primarily on hot rolled bands, and provide cut-to-length, pickling and oiling, and slitting services to a variety of manufacturing sectors.
CSSC is a unit of Cargill, Incorporated, an international marketer, processor and distributor of agricultural, food, financial, steel and other industrial products and services.
CSSC has an opening for Outside Sales Representative at our Loudon, TN branch. This position is responsible for meeting customers' requirements to achieve budgeted sales for the assigned territory. New-account development is also a critical requirement of the position. The position will office out of our Loudon, TN facility and require some overnight travel. The primary territory for this position will be North Carolina.

Principal Accountabilities:

* Selling steel-Maximize profit in territory by managing customer base orders, communicate with customers, peers, and sales management, ensure correct pricing, resolve credit issues, total account responsibility.

* Establishing new accounts- Disciplined approach to new account development, carefully examine customers' requirements to ensure compliance with processing capability and overall business plan.

* Planning and forecasting-Analyze market conditions, develop strategies, maximize market share.Pricing-Understand credit policies and credit limits, understand legal aspects of pricing and competition.

* Organizing/Documentation-Budget time, maintain and update territory records, provide monthly reports.

* Pricing-Understand credit policies and credit limits, understand legal aspects of pricing and competition.

* Decision making-Self-directed, innovative and creative.


Requirements

Requirements:

* Minimum of two years flat-rolled-steel sales

* Bachelors degree required

Desired:

* Proven customer-relationship-building skills critical to establishing and maintaining customers through high level of expertise and professionalism.

* Ability to develop and apply effectively knowledge of markets, customer needs, and business dynamics to achieve volume and margin objectives.

* Proven customer-solutions track record including new-account acquisition and retention.

* Ability to understand customer technical requirements in order to provide steel that will perform to customer requirements.

* Ability and orientation to leverage customer solutions through synergies with other CSSC offices and other Cargill business units.

* Demonstrated self-motivation and high initiative to achieve desired outcomes.

* Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

* Willing to travel 30-40% of time. Overnight travel required.
