The Cotton Buisness unit at Cargill is very proud to be one of the world's largest and oldest cotton businesses. We service growers, ginners, buyers and textile mills worldwide through our network of buying, selling and shipping offices and our cotton gins and warehouses. We are available to every time zone in the world through our major merchandising offices in Memphis and Liverpool and our other offices in over a dozen countries and agencies in over 40. There is nowhere cotton is traded where we do not have a presence and ther is no language in which it is traded that we are not fluent.

Principal Accountabilities:

This Position is the Business Unit IT Manager of the Cotton Business Unit with19 offices around the globe within the Cargill Agricultural Supply Chain ("CASC") platform. This role has the following areas of responsibilities: (Reflects an initial higher project management allocation of time as a result of a new business system rollout)

35% - Leadership to Cotton Management team

* Proporses and implements strategic IT direction for the business unit with the Corporate standards and guidelines to maximize leverage for Cargill

* Understands general business principles and various functions of Cotton business unit

* Serve as part of the business unit management team, participate in various senior management initiatives, staff meetings, etc.
45% - Cotton IT Manager

* Develop and lead a highly effective global IT Team.

* Coach and mentor IT employees. Ensure that IT is a learning organization, mentoring and coaching IT staff to ensure their ongoing growth and success. Finding opportunities to build business acumen in IT through IT partnership with the business unit.

* All aspects of talent management: selection, performance management, engagement, compensation planning, development, coaching, HR policies, mentoring, talent, etc.

* Participates actively in the CASC IT peer group, promote collaboration across group.

* Strong contributor to cost/benefits/risk analysis

* Ensure effective application of project management techniques and principles to all projects

* Resolves problems through immediate actions or short-term planning and set priorities to ensure tasks completion

* Establishes and adheres to practices and procedures within the Corporate IT policies

* Provides organizational direction on practices, policies and procedures

* Ensure adequate controls are in place for IP compliance and continually monitored according to Cargill's IP policies

* Builds an environment that supports cooperation and cohesiveness among the work teams and with other areas within the organization
20% - Supervisor and Project Manager

* Strong project management competency and ability to manage and implement IT projects for the Cotton Business Unit and the IT function.
Examples are: Implement ITAS in Brazil, Disaster recovery, etc*
This position is part of the Cotton IT department consisting of 16 people distributed globally. It reports to the Cotton BU controller and the CASC regional IT tag.

In addition to the supervision of the members of the IT department, the incumbent works with the users of the Cotton Business Unit, other IT Managers and development teams, and IT functional teams (infrastructure, support, global Cargill teams) across the globe.


Requirements

Required:

* Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Computer Science or MIS.

* 10+ years of business and/or IT experience with demonstrated business management knowledge to resolve multidiscipline process problems and to leverage resources to deliver solutions.

* Ability to travel both domestic and internationally 40-50%

* Budget management of at least $4.1 million per year

* Proven project experience managing a portfolio of large and very large projects.

* Proven ability to develop and communicate an IT strategy that enables the business unit's strategic imperatives.

* Demonstrated strong leadership skills in the areas of polarity management, learning and execution capacity, and all strategic impearative behaviors.

* Ability to identify and investigate business problems, issues, and circumstances and provides recommendations, alternatives, risks, and benefits to the appropriate decision maker.

* Established skills in identifying and developing strategies to address change management issues.

* Ability to communicate, work across geographies business function, and enjoy working in a team-oriented environment.

* Proven skills in sharing information and expertise with others, delivering solutions, influencing, and performing root cause problem solving.

* Demonstrated ability to deal with ambiguity by having the capability to cope with change, handle risk and uncertainty, as well as to make quality decisions without having all the information at hand; can comfortably handle risk and uncertainty.

* Demonstrated interpersonal savvy capabilities: relates well to all kinds of people, up, down, and sideways, inside and outside the organization; builds appropriate rapport as well as constructive and effective relationships.

* Proven ability to obtain results through influence and collaboration.

* Champion of change and process improvement. Embrace Corporate and Platform initiatives, building a strong working relationship across functions.

* Experience migrating, to standard processes, utilizing a commercial ERP.
